USM Secures KPT-Industrial Matching Grant for Phase 3/2024

Penang, Malaysia – Prof. Dr. Suzylawati Ismail and her research team at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) have secured RM 191,526 under the KPT-Industrial Matching Programme (IMaP) Grant for Phase 3/2024, in collaboration with Indah Water Konsortium Sdn. Bhd. (IWK).

The project, "Hybrid Zeolite-ZwitAd System for Enhanced Ammoniacal Nitrogen Removal in Sewage Treatment," aims to improve wastewater treatment efficiency by integrating natural zeolite and a novel adsorbent, ZwitAd, for optimized pollutant removal.

The IMaP Grant, under the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT), promotes research-industry collaboration to drive innovation and practical solutions for industrial challenges. This initiative aligns with NIMP 2030's goal of strengthening research and commercialization ecosystems in Malaysia.
