Two MSc Viva Successes in January 2025
Congratulations to Mdm Nur Atikah Mat Ali and Ms. Amirah Ayu Kartika binti Asman, MSc students from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), for successfully defending their research work in their viva sessions.
On 9 January 2025, Mdm Nur Atikah Mat Ali defended her thesis titled "Artocarpus integer and Musa sp. Peels Extract as Sustainable Coagulants for Aquaculture Wastewater Treatment." Her research explores the potential of natural coagulants in improving aquaculture wastewater treatment, offering a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to conventional methods.
Meanwhile, on 21 January 2025, Ms. Amirah Ayu Kartika binti Asman successfully defended her thesis, "Life Cycle Assessment on Pyrolysis of 3-Ply Face Mask and Public Perception Studies on the Sustainable Upcycling of Plastic Waste." Her study evaluates the environmental impact of pyrolysis as a plastic waste upcycling method and investigates public acceptance of this sustainable approach.
